Zimbabwe takes part in World Travel Market

Zimbabwe is participating in this year’s World Travel Market (WTM), a prestigious there-day global business-to-business (B2B) travel symposium.
The London tourism showcase is currently running between November 7-9, 2022.
Through the country’s tourism marketing representative body, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), together with ten other private sector players are exhibiting Zimbabwe’s premium tourism attractions to entice back high-spending European tourists into the country post-Covid-19.
Speaking to TateguruTv.com on the sidelines of the fair, ZTA Chief Executive Officer Ms Winnie Muchanyuka said; “Destination Zimbabwe’s participation at WTM London will mainly focus on reengaging and engaging key source markets after a long period of international travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Engagements such as these will work towards boosting the recovery of international tourism, regain confidence on destination Zimbabwe in key source markets of the world.”
The World Travel Market is the second largest tourism exhibition fair in the world, second to the Internationale Tourismus Börse (ITB-Berlin).
With an average of 50000 participants annually inclusive of senior travel industry professionals, airlines, and international media.
The importance of the UK markets to Zimbabwe as a key source for tourists can never be over-emphasised as the country occupies second position on the tourism source market list, coming only second to the United States.
The World Tourism Market returns to physical exhibitions for the first time since the lifting of travel restrictions as a result of the COVID pandemic.
This year’s WTM travel fair, which runs under the theme; “Reconnect, Rebuild, Renovate is geared to provide a networking opportunity, with world-renowned travel and tourism operators from across the globe, and Zimbabwe is a proud participant.

The Zimbabwean delegation is being led by the Honourable Deputy Minister of Environment, Tourism, and Hospitality Industry Barbara Rwodzi, and as usual no stone will be left unturned as the Zimbabwean delegation seeks to maximise every cent spent through a growing appetite to visit and invest in Zimbabwe.
