Ximex mall dealer Tafadzwa Murengwa, popularly known as Boss Pangolin is on the run after shooting lover.
Murengwa is the same dealer who created a scene at the popular hustlers` meeting point after slashing cash on the streets.
Barely 24 after he announced himself on the scene, Murengwa is back in the news this time for a crime of passion.
On Friday morning, Murengwa had an altercation with his on and off girlfriend Samantha Dzapata and her elder sister Farai Dzapata.
Sources close to the deceased Samantha Dzapata have disclosed a full confession by Murengwa which he made via a recorded WhatsApp voice note.
In the voice note Marengwa said he was on his way to leave the country through Mkumbura Border Post in Mount Darwin.
The voice note was allegedly recorded in Bindura where he was awaiting a colleague to bring him some stuff (possibly hard cash) so that he could skip the border and get out of the country.
Details as to where he is currently are not clear.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police have made a statement requesting all the details possible to apprehend the shooter and being him to justice.
“The ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Tafadzwa Russel Murengwa of Glen Lorne Harare in connection with callous shooting and murder of his ex-lover Samantha Dzapata (28) of Waterfalls along Simon Mazorodze near Bathroom Boutique on July 29, 2022 at around 09.00hrs. Anyone with information to contact the nearest Police Station,” read the Tweet on their official Twitter page.
Samantha is believed to have suffered an abusive relationship which led to her death at the hands of Murengwa
According to surfacing pictures and conversations between Samantha Dzapata and Murengwa’s associates she had been assaulted by the shooter on allegations of her cheating on her ex-lover.
“This is what your friend did to me when I told him that I am not able to settle with him because of his behaviour, he advised me emotionally, he was controlling and manipulative,” read part of the conversation between her and an unknown associate of the shooter.

The chat went on to disclose that Murengwa failed to accept the rejection of his marriage advances and went on to pummel her head with a vehicle jack.
In the voice note confession by Murengwa, he admits that Samantha called off the relationship in January 2022 and the he started making advances to rekindle the affair in March.
Murengwa went through the deceased mother to facilitate them rekindling the relationship.
He goes on to claim that by then Samantha was already involved with another married man whom she was seeing behind his back.
“After we got back together I noticed that Samantha was receiving video calls from another man while she was with me and hanging them up. We had a quarrel over the issue and then I forgave her.
I then took her to Victoria Falls for a vacation and four weeks later she started trying to break up with me again. That was the day you called me asking me why I was beating her,” said Murengwa in the voice note.

Murengwa was arrested and let out on bail for the assault case but continued to contact the deceased.
In a bid to soften tension between them Murengwa used money to buy trinkets and to pacify the deceased’s mother and father into reuniting him with Samantha.
Upon realising that the deceased had taken a peace order against him regardless of the money he spent and her relatives, buying her gifts, Murengwa began to stalk Samantha.
According to the voice note, this is when he found out that Samantha was still in contact with the new lover.
Murengwa is said to have contacted the new lover and asked him to respect the investments he had made to the relationship considering the new lover was already married.
The new lover did not consider the option.
Murengwa is said to have dropped off Samantha’s stuff at her work place and told his brother and father that he was ending the on and off relationship with Samantha.
After a bitter exchange of words over the phone between him and Samantha with her sister Fadzai, Murengwa says he went to town and threw money in the streets to blow off some steam, rich boy style.
The next day he then confronted Samantha and Fadzai demanding his money back and in the heat of the argument he opened fire on his ex-lover.
