The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council has said that registration fees for the 2022 examinations will be paid in local currency, at the interbank rate.
In a statement, ZIMSEC said although the prices were pegged in United States dollars, they can be paying using the local unit.
“The Zimbabwe School Examination Council would like to inform its stakeholders, parents/guardians and candidates of the Interbank rate which shall apply when making payments for the 2022 examination fees,”
Those who would like to make payments in ZWL will use the communicated herein from the period of 22 to 29 July 2022,” stated in the statement.
The exchange rate to be applied for payments is ZWL 455 to 1 USD.
However, in the statement ZIMSEC said parents who wish to make payments in USD or Rands are able to do so.
The ZIMSEC is urging the public that the payments for the examination fees should be paid directly into ZIMSEC accounts by individual parents.
Payments are made to the school or centre of registration for forward remission to ZIMSEC by the relevant authorities.
