Zimbabwe expected to receive 2 million vaccines today

Mbuya Nehanda, the Air Zimbabwe cargo is expected to land at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport today Thursday July 8, 2021 at 1435hrs with 2 million vaccine doses.

The Covid-19 vaccines from China seeks to boost the country’s vaccination drive after several centres ran out of doses, which caused panic, the information minister said in q cabinet briefing.

Zimbabwe has faced shortages of vaccines at major centres in Harare and Bulawayo, forcing authorities to prioritise inoculating those seeking second doses.

Zimbabwe has only authorised China’s Sinovac and Sinopharm, Russia’s Sputnik V and India’s Covaxin doses for emergency use.
