Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa gave an update on the progress at today`s Post Cabinet briefing in Harare.

“149 statutes have been aligned to the Constitution, leaving a balance of 34,” said Minister Mutsvangwa.

This averages the enactment of 18 laws per year, and if the momentum is maintained, the 2013 constitution will be fully aligned by end of 2022.

Leader of Government business in parliament, Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi recently said that the number of aligned laws could have been higher had it not been of the Covid-19 pandemic which has on instances forced the adjournment of sessions.
