The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has apologized to the country for the embarrassing travel episode that saw Warriors Coach Zdravko Logarusic being denied entry into SouthAfrica for the Cosafa Cup tournament.

Zifa have laid the blame on the travelling agent who assured them that everything was fine.

The development has left Assistant coach Tonderai Ndiraya in charge of the team.

The other Assistant Coach Loyd Chitembwe, was never in the travelling squad as a result of his non-authorisation to travel to South Africa.

In a statement ZIFA said the unnamed travel agent has agreed to reimburse the money.

“We were dismayed upon arrival when we told by the immigration officials that only service and diplomatic holders from Croatia were exempt from South African visa requirements.

This was this was not been anticipated by the association and the travel agent has availed letter of apology after this debacle. The agent also agreed to reimburse expenses resulting from this anomaly,” ZIFA said.

The Association also said they are now working on insuring that the Coach get a visa and proceed to join the team in their base in the shortest time possible.

Zimbabwe will kick off their campaign against the Mambas of Mozambique in their opening match on Thursday.

Warriors are the most successful team in the Cosafa Cup having won the competition six times since it started.
