Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) has warned of an interruption of the prepaid electricity vending system countrywide from May 20 to May 21 to facilitate routine maintenance of the system.
In a statement, the power utility said the move is to ensure continued efficient service delivery.
“The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to advice its valued customers that there will be interruption of the prepaid Electricity Vending system on Thursday May 20 2021 at 1030pm to May 21 2021 at 0600hrs to facilitate for routine maintenance of the system to ensure continued efficient Service delivery.
Customers on the prepaid channel are urged to ensure that they purchase enough power to avoid running out of credit during the maintaining period” reads the statement.
The introduction of the vending system has helped in the decongestion of ZETDC banking halls as consumers could purchase tokens in the comfort of their homes.
