ZESA explains dark spell

Power utility ZETDC has apologized to Harare residents for the sustained power outages, saying the blackouts are a result of technical faults.

The most of Harare has been in darkness for a few days now, a result of the faults and many have been wondering if we are back to the dark days.

“The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to apologise to its valued customers in Harare region for the power outage due to faults on the feeders supplying them. ZETDC engineers and technicians are working to rectify the faults.
“ZETDC engineers and technicians are working to rectify the faults,” ZETDC said in a statement.

The faults are at the Hatfield Gates feeder which covers Sunningdale, Hatfield, Logan Park, Mainway Meadows and Prospect.

Another fault at the Aces of Spade feeder which affectedd Belvedere, Milton Park, Ridgeview, Westlea, Madokero, Ashdown Park, Warren Park and Bloomingdale.

The power utility promised that they will solve the issue expeditiously.

ZETDC also said suburbs including Highlands Park, Helensvale, The Glen and Glen Helen will be affected by another power outage between 6 am and 6 pm on Wednesday to allow for routine maintenance works.

The outage will also affect Carrick Creagh, Chishawasha Hills, Umwingsdale, Crowhill and surrounding areas.
