Zimbabwe Warriors have received a major boost in their Afcon campaign, as England based left-back Jordan Zemura has left England for Cameroon, to join the rest of the team.
Zemura, who plays for Championship outfit Bournemouth can play anywhere on the left flank.
The 23 year old is famed for his industrious play, likened to that of yesteryear wingbacks, like Ashley Cole.
Zemura, who is in form for club, missed the first warriors match against Senegal yesterday after his arrival was delayed due to COVID-19 outbreak at his England base.
Zemura has been in self-isolation since the news of the outbreak broke out at the club.
Coach Norman Mapeza`s options have been widened as the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) announced that Zemura will arrived in Cameroon today.
“Jordan Zemura arrives in Cameroon tonight.He is expected in Bana tomorrow. The Warrior delayed joining the team due to COVID-19 related issues,” ZIFA said in a statement.
Announcing on his Twitter Zemura said the last two group matches are important therefore he will give all his best to qualify for the next round of the tournament.
“Can’t wait to join the boys, and represent my Zimbabwe. Two important games to get out the group everything is possible,” he said.
Zemura is valued at about 2.5 million pounds, and has scored three goals in eighteen appearances for his club this season.
He has earned four caps wearing national team colours.
