Harare – ZANU PF is setting its sights on economic transformation with its 2024 conference theme, “Industrialise and Modernise Towards the Attainment of Vision 2030.” Cde Farai Marapira, the party’s Director for Information and Publicity, highlighted the theme’s focus on industrialization and modernization as key drivers for achieving national prosperity.
“Our goal is clear,” stated Cde Marapira. “We aim to transform Zimbabwe into a manufacturing economy, moving away from our reliance on mining and agriculture.” This shift, he explained, will involve adding value to raw materials within the country, leading to increased exports and a boost in job creation.
By promoting local industries, creating jobs, and increasing national revenue, the party believes it can significantly enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
Cde Marapira emphasized the crucial role of modernization in this transformation. “We must leverage technology to increase productivity and efficiency across all sectors,” he stated. This includes investing in infrastructure, promoting innovation, and creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
The 2024 conference theme is deeply intertwined with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030, which aims to establish the nation as a middle-income economy within the decade. The vision outlines ambitious goals for economic growth, social equity, and infrastructure development, all of which align with the party’s focus on industrialization and modernization.
By prioritizing these key areas, ZANU PF aims to attract investment, foster innovation, and ultimately position Zimbabwe as a strong economic force in the region. The 2024 conference will serve as a platform to further develop these strategies and solidify the party’s commitment to achieving Vision 2030 for the betterment of all Zimbabweans.
