Bulawayo – In his closing address at the 21st ZANU PF Annual National People’s Conference, the President and First Secretary, His Excellency Cde. Dr E. D. Mnangagwa, lauded the party’s unity, resilience and determination to drive Zimbabwe’s development agenda.
Reflecting on the conference proceedings, President Mnangagwa expressed gratitude to the delegates for their “insights, views and robust deliberations” which enabled the formulation of “realistic, concise resolutions and people-centered development programmes.”
“We emerge from this Conference more united, renewed, recharged and full of vigour for the work that lies ahead,” the President and First Secretary declared, underscoring the revolutionary duty of every ZANU PF cadre to recommit to the party’s strategic vision.
Emphasizing the need for unwavering unity, President Mnangagwa stated, “Maintaining the highest degree of unity in thought, practice and action, as well as political stance is the responsibility of all of us. We must lead by example and act in line with the overall interest of the Party and country, when performing our duties.”
Addressing the party’s role in Zimbabwe’s development, the President and First Secretary affirmed that “ZANU PF is the Party of liberation and the Party of the future” whose “resolutions, policies and directives affect our society and impact all sectors of the economy.”
Outlining the conference theme, “Industrialise and Modernise Towards the Attainment of Vision 2030,” President Mnangagwa stressed the imperative to “diligently pursue industrial transformation and robust value chains as a catalyst for sustainable development and a competitive industrial base.”
Calling for constructive and program-based grassroots engagements, the President and First Secretary emphasized that “unity, unity, unity, peace and harmony are essential cogs to amplify the growth and prosperity our country seeks and deserves.”
President Mnangagwa further emphasized the need to embed the party’s development philosophy, “Nyika inovakwa, inotongwa, inonamatigwa nevene vayo/ ilizwe, lakhiwa, libuswe, likhulekelwe ngabanikazi balo,” in everything the party does.
Appealing to the youth and women, the President commended their “energy and ideas for the benefit of our Party and the people’s revolution,” affirming them as the “vanguard, always ready to defend the Party.”
Addressing indiscipline and corruption, President Mnangagwa warned that, “those that perpetrate acts of indiscipline, some of which now extend to acts of criminality, are warned.” He called for the entrenchment of the party’s “deeply entrenched Party discipline, rules and correct line,” stressing that “straying from the right path can cause fatal mistakes and dire consequences to our liberation movement and the people’s revolution.”
In conclusion, the President declared that under ZANU PF’s leadership, “the rise of Zimbabwe is unstoppable,” as the party stands ready to “register new victories and socio-economic milestones” in the march towards Vision 2030.
