The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has issued a public notice regarding a security breach on its @ZACCOnline X social media account.

According to the statement, the ZACC is “currently not in control of the account” and the last official post was made on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 18:25. The Commission says efforts are underway to recover the account.

The public and all key stakeholders are urged to “disregard any communications that may be posted on the @ZACCOnline X account, until further notice.”

While the details of the breach are still unclear, the ZACC has reaffirmed its “commitment to eradicate the scourge of corruption and ensure the national development aspirations are attained within set timelines.”

This incident comes as the anti-corruption body continues its efforts to root out graft in Zimbabwe. The ZACC has been at the forefront of several high-profile investigations in recent years.

In the meantime, the public is advised to refrain from engaging with the compromised social media account and to instead refer to the Commission’s official communication channels for updates on this developing situation.
