Prosper Kaseke, the man who was recently arrested by a Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) investigator on charges of impersonating a lawful officer appeared in court yesterday for sentencing.
Last month Tateguru Tv broke the story of Kaseke’s arrest and detention at Nyabira Police Station after being caught in the act of impersonating a ZACC officer.
Yesterday he appeared in court before Judith Taruvinga who sentenced him to 18 months in prison.
The sentence was wholly suspended on the condition that the accused will perform nine months of community service. Another nine months were suspended on the condition that he does not commit a similar offence within the same period.
Prosper Kaseke blew his cover when he bragged over his imagined employer to an actual ZACC staffer who then immediately arrested him in Nyabira.
ZACC had been inundated in the past days with phone calls from concerned citizens that were questioning the presence of people who claimed to be ZACC commissioners and investigators.
ZACC continues to call on the public to be wary of the bogus officials and to report any suspicions on: WhatsApp number +26319529483 or call on +26324207065/6/7, +263242369602/5/8/14 or visit zacc.online/tipoffs. Alternatively, they can report to the nearest police station.
