Women from various Apostolic sects have commended Government for its empowerment programmes
Government has created platforms which open doors for women to generate funds
Under the banner of the Council of Churches in Africa, women from various Apostolic sects testified to the positive trajectory the Second Republic has taken to empower women.
“The government is implementing several strategies to empower us women. If we are empowered it means the whole nation has been empowered,” said a member of the Apostolic churches at a Harare gathering on Saturday.
Zimbabwe Open University Director, Dr Eunice Nyamanhare who was guest of honor.
She encouraged women to unite for economic and social turnaround.
She said have realised that our government is promoting women’s empowerment in all spheres of development, so we want to commend that. As women, we need to appreciate each other in whatever we do. The government’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind should also unify us as women,” said Dr Nyamanhare.
To promote and empower women , the Second Republic has introduced and implemented several strategies, including Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank to offer loans to women for various projects.
