The Zimbabwe men’s football national team yesterday arrived in Francistown, Botswana for their Afcon qualifier tie against Botswana slated for this evening.

Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) announced their arrival through social media platforms.

It is still unclear whether the Warriors flew straight to Francistown or they flew to Johannesburg, South Africa and then drove to Botswana by road.

The issue is still subject of debate, but more details will soon emerge.

The match starts at 6 pm.

Despite the absence of French-based players Tinotenda Kadewere and Marshall Munetsi who failed to travel due to logistical problems, Assistant Coach Tonderai Ndiraya is bullish ahead of the match.

“Instead of us mourning and groaning about the players who are not here, I think its important for us to focus on the two upcoming games and our qualification,” he said.

Zimbabwe and Botswana will be meeting for the 18th time with the former having 10 wins and five loses while the latter 2 matches ended with a draw.

Zimbabwe travelled with 21 players.
