Verify Engineering, a Government owned private limited company under the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development has installed 5000 litre oxygen tank at Chipinge district hospital.

The move to install the medical oxygen tank while part of the company’s social corporate responsibility, is also in line with the NDS1 which is determined to improve the livelihoods of the Zimbabwean population and achieve an Empowered and Prosperous Upper Middle-Income Society by 2030.

Verify Engineering is running two plants at Feruka in Mutare specializing in the production of medical and industrial, oxygen and acetylene respectively.

The two plants were commissioned by President Mnangagwa in 2022. The company is now focused on expanding and marketing its product locally, regionally and internationally.

Verify Engineering came in at a time when the country’s hospitals were struggling to import pure medical oxygen, a critical component of containing and treating COVID-19 a then novel virus which had wreaked havoc worldwide.

On the other hand, acetylene gas is a very essential element that propels and drives our industrialization agenda.

Factories in Zimbabwe have been importing acetylene gas, which is most often used in heavy industries for cutting steel and other abrasive roles.

The gas production by Verify Engineering is an enabler for industrialization, modernization and economic growth in line with the National Vision 2030 – Towards a prosperous and empowered upper-middle-income economy.

The gases, especially the oxygen component is 100% pure and meets the required national and regional needs will help propel Zimbabwe’s exports and earn much needed foreign currency.

The aceytline will help cut import costs, save on foreign currency, boost industry capacitation, and reduce downtime.

Chipinge District Hospital is a referral hospital for a combined rural and urban population of over 340 000. It is also in the district that was among the hardest hit by the devastating Cyclone Idai in 2019.

Installing the life-saving medical oxygen tank at the remote district hospital dovetails with President Mnangagwa’s development agenda of leaving no one and no place behind. It also shows the government of Zimbabwe has its people at heart.
