The decision by the Second Republic to decentralise the justice delivery system is coming to fruition, as a court house being built at Mtawatawa Growth Point is almost complete.
Currently, the Judiciary Services Commission is making use of small offices as “Courts” at Mtawatawa Government complex. The makeshift courts are small and can only accommodate a few people attending court sessions.
The building of this modern court house is expected to improve service delivery in the district.
The court house will also have offices for magistrates, prosecutors and other judiciary workers. It will also house holding rooms for suspects and convicted criminals.
Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe is mainly burdened by crimes such as unlawful entry, illegal mining, gender based violence, common assaults among other crimes.
Meanwhile, the district is manned by one Resident Magistrate.
