Using platforms to settle personal vendettas
● a case of Trevor Ncube and AMH

First impressions are tell tales into the psych of a person.
The manner in which they speak or write gives insights into their thought process.

For instance, Trevor Ncube’s pinned tweet reads,
“Robert Mugabe imprisoned me. Took away my citizenship. Look who is still standing. I follow my convictions. Not fear of imprisonment. Not crowds. Not intimidation. But my inner spirit.”

Right off the bat you can see he is not only trying to make a bravado statement, but he also has an agenda.

The agenda can be better interpreted through what has been written in Newsday, The Standard and other of his newspapers.
Reports, devoid of facts have become the daily bread of his publications.

Why on earth is Trevor Ncube so bitter and hellbound on dragging the Second Republic through the mud?

The whole AMH was a literal cheer squad for the Second republic at the dawn of the New Dispensation. Where it go south and why?
They even felt a fresh breeze of media emancipation with the amendment if media laws and opening of airwaves for new Television and Radio stations.

Feeling lucky Trevor Ncube envisioned himself as the new Oprah Winfrey launching his talk show Convo with with Trevor, where his first guests were mostly business people.
On his YouTube show he would ask if the Guests had confidence in the Second Republic and the President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s policies.
It would run as a pro Development show until the list of media houses that won licensing to run television stations in Zimbabwe came out.
Ncube’s company did not make the cut and he saw blood everywhere.

The story sounds very familiar to that of Hopewell Chin’ono who was very confident he would land a job at the ZBC post 2018 elections.
These two went ferral.

The disapointment that their links and proximity to power proved barren in favours made them rabid.
Today the media industry is polarised by one wing that is clearly not trying to factual, rather frames the news to attain a hidden agenda.
One would say it`s healthy to have more than one side of the story, but when the side is unpatriotic and aimed at causing quantifiable damage to the nation and its allies then that view is distorted.

Recently The Standard was found on the wrong side of things after the Chinesse Embassy denounced their article as being anti-democratic and misleading.
AMH’s response to this was cold and did not retract the statements that rattled the complainant.
In one of their NewsDay headlines they wrote; ZANU PF hijacks IDs registration.
A headline they did not make when one opposition party actually overtook the voter education and mobilisation of new voters towards voter registration.

Basically they were moonlighting ZEC.
The gag is actually on the fact that the government in power is ZANUPF and the mandate to ensure all citizens are documented adequately was equally beneficial to everyone.
When a Republican president pushes a policy in America, Republicans are the first to partake in the implementation, its normal in leading democracies for the majority to partake in Government programmes.
However, Ncube and his dog are out for blood and there is no telling how far they will go to attack virtually anything Government related.
All because he could not get his Oprah Winfrey dream.
