HARARE – The government is accelerating the implementation of the Lake Tugwi-Mukosi Combination Master Plan, according to Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr. Jenfan Muswere. This announcement came during a post-Cabinet media briefing on November 19, 2024.
The master plan, developed by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga in his role as Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Food Security and Nutrition, aims to unlock the economic potential of the Tugwi-Mukosi area. Growing investor interest in the region prompted the Cabinet to prioritize the plan’s implementation.
Oversight of the project will be led by the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, who serves as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Food Security and Nutrition. This decision reflects the significant role of land, water, and fisheries resources in the project’s development.
Minister Muswere emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the project gains the necessary momentum. Further details regarding specific timelines and investment plans are expected to be released in due course.
