Mr James Makamba, a top Zimbabwean businessman has praised President Mnangagwa for the way he has led the country so far, saying his leadership style is like that of a general who leads from the front.
Speaking to Tateguru Tv ahead of the country`s 42nd Heroes and Defense Forces commemorations in Harare, Mr Makamba revealed his deep admiration of President Mnangagwa’s kind of leadership.
Mr Makamba said the President`s development focused leadership and policy interventions are set to benefit Zimbabwean citizens in the fullness of time.
“The President has done extremely well under very difficult economic conditions. He has led from the front, showing the nation that with will power, all things are possible. The President has been eloquent and unequivocal in his policy pronouncements in a way that leaves one with no equivocation. His policies have undoubtedly translated into greater benefit to the entire population,” said Mr Makamba.
The President is on record assuring the nation that the economy will not fail under his watch, a bold statement that captures his commitment to lead the country towards being an Upper Middle Income Economy in 2030.
According to Mr Makamba, it is President Mnangagwa’s engaging attitude and the ‘never say die’ spirit which has seen Zimbabwe’s economy defying the odds and register growth, even in the face of sanctions and a devastating Covid-19 pandemic.
“As the nation commemorates Heroes and Defence Forces month, it is important to remember the current efforts to keep their dreams and aspirations alive. President Mnangagwa, as a seasoned living hero of the liberation struggle, will never betray the aspirations of his both departed and loving Cdes,” said Mr Makamba.
Since coming to power in 2018, the President has led from the front in efforts to unite the people, develop the country, heal wounds of the past and ensure equitable development through devolution.
“The President has put in place visible and actionable mechanisms for engagement with all sectors of the population including the marginalised and the underdeveloped communities. On the international front the President continues to move mountains with the engagement and reengagement drive which is meant to see the country reintegrate into the family of nations,” said Mr Makamba.
Mr Makamba urged the nation to unite and rally behind the President in order to build upon the successes registered to date on the economic front, in sectors as agriculture, mining, industry, commerce, tourism, health and on the international relations.
