South African artists DJ Zinhle, Zakes Bantwini and Bongo Maffin are heading to Zimbabwe for the Jacaranda Festival, penciled for 7 to 9 October.
This year’s Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival is set to bring world-renowned music stars to Zimbabwe’s shores for three days of performances from 7 to 9 October.
The festival will be held at Old Hararians Sports Club in Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare.
The South African artists are part of 32 artists scheduled to perform at the festival. A Belgian group Morda will headline the Friday performances, sharing the stage with DJ Zinhle and Zimbabwe’s Enzo Ishall.
On October 8, Bongo Maffin and Zakes Bantwini will be joined by Zimbabwe’s Jah Prayzah as headliners for Saturday.
South African singer-songwriter and record producer, Zonke and her compatriot DJ Fresh will headline Sunday.
They will be joined by Zimbabwean gospel singer Janet Manyowa; Bulawayo’s Vusa Mkhaya and Djembe Monks; Traveller’s Band fronted by Kelly Rusike while Victor Kunonga and Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana complete the lineup.
Apart from the performances, there will be workshops for two days.
The workshops will be held at The Venue.
The aim of the workshops is teaching artistes about the creative economy through the workshops and also providing artistes with a world-class event for them to showcase their talents.
It also provides festival-goers with world-class acts in an environment that seeks to celebrate good social spaces.
