State assisted funeral for Chief Mabhikwa

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has granted a State Assisted funeral to the late Chief Mabhikwa, born Vusumuzi Khumalo who died in a car accident on May 22, 2022 along the Bulawayo-Victoria Fall highway.

Chief Mabhikwa died in an accident in which his car collided with a haulage truck on the fateful night. He was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital in Lupane where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Chief Mabhikwa is famous for breaking the records back in 2012 by becoming the youngest Chief in the country when he was installed at the tender age of 19 while in his second year at University.

According to the press release by the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, the state assisted funeral will be held in Jotsholo on Saturday the May 28, 2022
“The state assisted funeral is in recognition of his dedication and commitment to national duty as a traditional leader and public servant,” wrote Dr Sibanda.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga will represent the President at the funeral in Jotsholo tomorrow.
