The Sports and Recreational Commission (SRC), has banned all sporting activities in the country from June 14 2021 as measures to curb the renewed surge in Covid-19 infections.

“All national sports associations, clubs, gyms and related stakeholders should abide by the suspension without exception,” read the SRC statement.
The association also affirmed that they are aware of ongoing sporting commitments and will communicate with the relevant associations for way forward.
“The SRC is aware of certain ongoing, or contemplated, national sports commitment and will be in urgent communication with the relevant national associations thereof on guidance, and other motivators measures in light of the above suspension,” the SRC added.

The news comes as a blow to local soccer fans as the Premier Soccer League Chibuku Cup was gaining steam, entering into its second round matches.
