Shona Ferguson dies

Popular South African actor, producer and co-founder of Ferguson Films, Shona Ferguson, has passed on.

Shona died due to COVID-19 related complications today at noon after being hospitalized last week at Milpark Private Hospital.

The media mogul was admitted after having suffering from chest pains.

He died at the age of 47 and was married to the popular South African actress, producer and also co-owner of Ferguson films, Connie Ferguson.

The family representative released a statement confirming.

They said “It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Mr Ferguson at noon today July 29. His untimely passing was due to COVID-19 related complications and not a heart operation as reported earlier. We ask that you give the family time to process the painful loss and respect their space during this time.”

 

He had been in a ventilator in Intensive Care Unit for the past few days and his condition had recently worsened.

Shona was known for starring, directing and producing mega dramas in South Africa such as The Queen, Kings of Joburg, The River among others.

He is survived with one child, a girl and his wife Connie.
