ZANU-PF Spokesperson Cde. Amb Simon Khaya-Moyo has passed away.

 

He was 76.

 

Cde Moyo joined the nationalist Movement as a member of Zimbabwe African People’s Union (ZAPU) in 1968.

 

After going to Zambia, senior officials of ZAPU upon noting his intelligence agreed to send him to Zambia University to further pursue his education.

 

Cde Khaya Moyo was a graduate in Social Sciences.

 

He later went to Russia and Cuba where he recieved his his military training. He also attended the Malta the Geneva and Lancester Conference which later resulted in the Lancester House Agreement.

ZANU PF Spokesperson Ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo has died.

Ambassador Moyo had been unwell for a while, prompting him to take days off his role as the ruling party`s voice.

He was 76.

He died at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo this afternoon.

Ambassador Moyo served Zimbabwe in different capacities as a diplomat, cabinet minister, senior civil servant and as a politburo member in ZANU PF.
