The ZANU PF Youth League has extended the due date for submission of CVs for participation in the forthcoming National Youth Executive Council elections.

Announcing the grace period in a circular earlier this week, the Party’s Acting Deputy Secretary for Youth in the Politburo, Tendai Chirau acknowledged the need to accord enough time for the submission and transmission of CVs to the Party Headquarters.

“ZANU PF wishes to advise that the submission of CVs by Party members wishing to participate in the election of the National Youth Executive has been extended to Friday, 8th April 2022 by 12 noon,” said the statement.

“All aspiring candidates must submit their CVs to their respective DCC office by Friday 8 April, 2022. As such DCC coordinators must submit CVs to the Provincial Youth Executive Council which will make comments in the CVs by Saturday 9 April, 2022,” he said.

As one of the basic tenets of democracy, ZANU PF holds periodic internal elections which are usually meant for internal leadership renewal and to foster democratic inclusion for all Party members.

Some of the requirements for qualification to stand for election include that one has to be 35 years or younger on the day of the elections.

The envisaged Youth League National Executive Council elections represents the climax of the Party’s restructuring process which commenced last year to rejuvenate itself ahead of the crucial 2022.

The Youth League will hold its elective conference between 4 and 8 May 2022 at the ZANU PF Headquarters in Harare.
