‘London Bridge is falling down’, British Monarch Queen Elizabeth II has passed away.
She was 96 years old.
She passed away on the evening of Thursday September 8,2022 at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
Elizabeth II, full name Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor is the Queen of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms.
Elizabeth was born in Mayfair, London, as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York -Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and George VI.
Her father acceded to the throne in 1936 upon the abdication of his brother, King Edward VIII, making Elizabeth the heir presumptive.
Her spouse was the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh who passed on in 2021.
Her children were Prince Charles of Wales, Prince Andrew Duke of York, Princess Anne Princess Royal and Prince Edward Earl of Wessex.
Her grandchildren were Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, Lady Louise Windsor, Peter Phillips, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie , Zara Tindall and James, Viscount Severn.
In 7 Decades, Britain has had 15 Prime Ministers and Queen.
Doctors earlier on that date had recommended the 96-year-old Queen under medical supervision, Buckingham Palace said.
All the Queen’s four children were with her at Balmoral Castle. Along with her grandson, the Duke of Cambridge.
The Mornach Queen Elizabeth II who was coronated on April 12, 1947 , has a reign that coincides with the World War II generation.
She is one of the few most visible female military veterans from that time.
She served as a mechanic.
In her coronarion speech she said,
“I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”
Under her rule most British colonies experiences apartheid and segregation triggering revolutions that led to the eventual nationalist liberation in former British Colonies.
Africa has scars from her Imperial regime’s colonial days. While Britain revere her as a patriot and devout Briton, whom God ought to save.
