Prince Charles plane crash: Pilot identified

The pilot who died in yesterday`s plane crash at Charles Prince Airport has been identified as Mark Sampson.
Sampson, a South African pilot was part of the Marksmen Aerobatic Team that was performing the air display for the Mashonaland Flying Club at the airport.
In a statement, the Marksmen Aerobatic Team described Sampson as a talented and experienced pilot.
“It is with great sadness and profound sense of loss that today (May 31), the MARKSMEN AEROBATIC TEAM can confirm that Mark Sampson, outstanding aviator, honoured team member, trusted number -4 and loyal friend, perished in a flying incident in Harare, Zimbabwe,” said Nils Flaaten the team`s representative.
The team were passing through Zimbabwe after a trip in Nairobi where they had performed at the Kenyan Defense Force (KDF) Museum Airshow, held in conjunction with the Aero Club of East Africa.
Flaaten said they are working together with Zimbabwean authorities.
