President Emmerson Mnangagwa has taken a three-week annual leave.
He will enjoy his vacation in Zimbabwe unwinding after a packed year, characterised with countless launches and groundbreaking ceremonies.
In a statement, Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Mr George Charamba said the President will rest for 23 days.
“The Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, wishes to advise that His Excellency the President, Dr E.D Mnangagwa started yesterday,the 13th of January, 2022 and will run until 5th February and he will be in the country.
During this period, Honourable Vice President General (retd) Dr. C. D. G. N. Chiwenga will act in his place,” the statement read.
President Mnangagwa worked throughout the festive season attending important functions such as the Verify Engineering 1000 oxygen tank handover, the Arcadia Lithium agreement signing function and and the National Intergrated Youth Skills Development Program among other engagements.
