President mourns Ambassador Dumbutshena

President Mnangagwa has sent a condolence message to the Dumbutshena family, following the death of former Zimbabwe ambassador to Malawi, Ms Thandiwe Dumbutshena.

The late Ambassador succumbed to Covid-19 related illness.

In a statement the President Mnangagwa said the nation has lost one of its long-serving, loyal and faithful public servant.

“A former school headmistress and leading educationist, the late Ambassador Dumbutshena served our country well as ambassador to Malawi for 14 productive years. During her tour of duty, she ensured bi-lateral and trade relations between our two sister republics were consolidated. To this day, we continue to build on the strong foundation which her years of service established,” said President Mnangagwa.

Ambassador Dumbutshena has been accorded a state assisted funeral.
