President Mnangagwa mourns Dr Mushohwe

President Mnangagwa has mourned the passing of former Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Christopher Mushohwe.
Dr Mushohwe died this morning after a long illness.
He was a longtime Civil Servant and later a holder of key ministerial portfolios under the First Republic.]
Dr Mushohwe held very sensitive positions in Government, including serving as personal staff to our late President Robert Mugabe, with whom he worked closely for many years as Director of State Residences.
In the statement, President Mnangagwa recalled Dr Mushohwe’s impressive educational background, which saw him attain two doctorates while holding demanding positions in Government and the ruling party, ZANU PF.
“His thirst for knowledge and desire to improve himself was truly remarkable and an inspiration to us all. Dr Christopher Mushohwe was a great son of the soil who dedicated his life to serving his country with distinction. He was a true patriot who demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and had a deep love for his people and for Zimbabwe. His loss is a blow to all of us,” said President E.D. Mnangagwa
Dr Mushohwe’s contributions to education and public service are widely acknowledged, with the President stating that he will be remembered as a key figure in the establishment of the Presidential Scholarship Programme, which provided access to education for many able but disadvantaged Zimbabweans.
The President also expressed his condolences to the Mushohwe family, saying, “My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs Mushohwe and the children during this difficult time. I hope that they find comfort in the knowledge Zimbabwe shares in their grief and bereavement and that Dr Mushohwe’s outstanding contributions to his country and people will be remembered and honoured for generations to come.”
The passing of Dr Mushohwe has left a void in Zimbabwe’s political landscape, but his legacy will endure and continue to inspire future generations.
