The positive energy and work ethic introduced by President Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and his Ministers and new breed of Ministry heads has permeated and cascaded down to lower levels within the Ministries too.
Hardly a day passes without some piece of good news about one Ministry or the other. From the removal of the veil of secrecy surrounding cabinet meetings through on time post-Cabinet media briefings to real-time reports by techno-savvy Permanent Secretaries who are always alert to the dangers of an information gap, there seems to be a whole new approach to work. If at all there is a negative, its how they have made contemporary media almost obsolete.
Service delivery from government departments has improved such that positive news hail from all corners of the country and world. From the gushing praise heaped on Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana and team of information officers by social media users to the unassailable work ethic of George Guvamatanga and the indefatigable energy of Dr John Basera, there is no lack of something positive to admire.
The long line of admirers of Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water Resources and Rural Settlements’ Dr John Basera have extended to former ESKOM interim CEO Engineer Matshela Koko. So pleased with the service he received from the Ministry’s team that he tweeted;
“I have received fantastic service from @MoLAFWRR_Zim in the last three months. It is not always the case but I just want to give credit when it’s due. @basera_john, we have never met. I just want you to know that I have a good impression of your team. Your team is service-oriented”
“Dr Basera is a man of action. A few days ago he agreed to meet a young farmer @cmashx( Clarence Tinashe Mashavave ). We the young in Zimbabwe have hope in his leadership,” replied Cossam Munemo to Eng. Koko.
These sentiments coming after the bumper harvest which he oversaw can only add a feather in his cap.
