Over 1 million youths reached in anti-drug abuse campaign – Cabinet

Cabinet yesterday confirmed that over 1 million youths were reached during the 21st February 2024 National Youth Day Celebrations.
This was said by Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Hon Jenfan Muswere during post cabinet briefing with the press last night.
The general trajectory of this week’s 100 day cycle report for 2024 was centred on Youth Development.
Minister Muswere told the press that a number of initiatives had been rolled out in the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training.
“The Vocational Training Centre strategic framework and implementation matrix was developed, and 15 modules were reviewed. Awareness programmes on drug and substance abuse reached an estimated 1 377 768 youths during the 21st February 2024 National Youth Day celebrations held at Mshagashe Vocational Training Centre in Masvingo.
“Materials for the construction of the Kadoma Vocational Training centre have been secured and the contractor is on site, construction of the Sivomo Vocational Training Centre is on-going. Five modules for the Youth Service in Zimbabwe Curriculum were successfully reviewed,” said Hon Muswere.
