Top religious leader Noah Taguta of Johane Marange apostolic sect has died.

St Noah Taguta Momberume, was among the most prominent indigenous church leaders in post-independence Zimbabwe.
He led a sect which has more than 50 000 members across the world.
Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Nokuthula Matsikenyere, confirmed that she has been officially informed of the death of Mutumwa Noah Taguta

 

“I have been informed by the Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Mr Edgars Seenza, that High Priest Noah Taguta is no more. The DDC (District Development Coordinator) Mutare advised that he died around lunch time,” said Minister Matsikenyere.

Besides being a religious leader, Taguta was a prominent farmer who ran a cattle ranch.
He was among religious leaders who refused to submit to imperial forces and could be counted among patriotic community leaders.
