News In Brief: President Mnangagwa appoints Permanent Representative to USA

President Mnangagwa has appointed Albert Ranganai Chimbindi as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in the United States of America.
Ambassador Chimbindi is a career diplomat who previously served as Zimbabwe`s Ethiopian envoy and was also permanent representative to the African Union.

The announcement was made by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda in a Government Gazette published 21st May 2021 and were made in terms of Section 110 (2) (i) and 204 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Number 20 2013.

Zimbabwe`s international representatives are being realigned with the reengagement needs of the second republic and Ambassador Chimbindi becomes the latest redeployment.
