Loice Namatai Chinyerere, a young member of the Mabvuku United Methodist Church, has booked herself into the Gospel big league, amongst the likes of Minister Michael Mahendere and Janet Monyowa, baba Manyeruke just to name but a few.
At 25, Namatai is one of the youngest Gospel artists in Zimbabwe.
She became a household name following the release of her hit song “Neni Handikurasi” back in 2017 whose visuals gained 190 000 views on YouTube.
Fast forward to 2020, she released a hot video of the song ‘Neni Handikurasi’ which captured world attention and now plays on Trace Africa Gospel channel.
In March 2021, Namatai was featured on the Nash TV channel where she performed the song “Zimbabwe Simuka”, a performance that made Pastor Michael Mahendere comment on Facebook.
“Wow, gifted!”, exclaimed Minister Mahendere in a Facebook post.
Darlington Marara, Namatai’s manager, had this to say when he spoke to TateguruTv ,
“Zimbabwe Simuka its a call for prayer and all our challenges we are seeing are temporary. Minister Namatai was urging people to unite in prayer and not dwell too much on our challenges and that if 99 per cent of our people can unite in prayer, our Nation will be healed completely. Also Namatai performed at the Nash Tv to market our Brand # Namatai Music to the World. We intend to minister to all Nations and give people hope.”
Mr Marara added that they have a collaboration project in the pipeline with Baba Mechanic Manyeruke.
“The song was recorded by Mono Mukundu and what’s left is to launch it. The song also gives hope especially in this Covid Era. The song is ready for release and we are only waiting for funds to facilitate a successful launch. We need this to be elite and we were looking forward to invite a few few special guests,” he said
