Warriors Captain Knowledge Musona will miss the final two Group G 2022 World Cup qualifiers, due to injury sustained while playing for his club in Saudi Arabia.
The Smiling Assassin was omitted on the list alongside America based Teenage Hadebe who faced similar circumstances.
The Warriors will play South Africa away on November 11, before wrapping up the Group matches in Harare against Ethiopia three days later.
Warriors coach Norman Mapeza said he announced the 26 strong squad to play for pride and prepare for the next year’s AFCON tournament to be staged in Cameroon since they have already eliminated from the world cup qualifiers.
βItβs all about assessment and building a team for the Afcon tournament next year. We need to restore our pride and make Warriors fans believe in our national team again. We also need to start building a team for the future.
That is why we have called in some local players, young players and some senior players for these last two World Cup qualifiers,ββ said Mapeza.
