Nelson Chamisa`s MDC-Alliance has come under fire for inviting creative workers to work for them for free.
MDC-A spokesperson Advocate Fadzayi Mahere shared a call on her Twitter in which she sought to recruit a Graphic Designer for their party on a pro bono basis.
In a Tweet, Mahere who regularly posts that people should not seek free legal advice from her said;
“I am humbly looking for a volunteer graphic designer to help our Comms and enhance our products. If you want to contribute to the @mdczimbabwe and are professional and creative please DM me.
Let us all play our part and use our skills to support our struggle,” Mahere said.
This is despite the fact that MDC-A has foreign donors, which include Embassy which bankroll its activities.
They also have an active fundraiser in which diasporans pour in money regularly at the party leadership`s request.
Questions have been raised over how the MDC-A would handle artists welfare as a Government, if they cannot pay for a simple service like flyer and poster designs.
A basic poster design costs between US$10 and US$50.
This odd request comes at a time when MDC-A functionaries like Ostallos Siziba are seen driving around Harare with different Mercedes Benz vehicles without plates and are known to be building houses, presumably from salaries they get from the party.
