Divisions are emerging within the MDC-Alliance Assembly over the use of funds raised from foreign funders said to be for the upkeep of members who are getting themselves arrested.
It has since been exposed that the so-called acts of benevolence are actually a source of income for most high ranking youths.

There has been a coordinated operation within opposition youths to provoke authorities into arresting them which is pursuant to a dual effect of painting Zimbabwe as a pariah and also being a fundraising gimmick for the struggling Nelson Chamisa faction.

Recently, United States based activist Freeman Chari was running a GoFundMe campaign, which was meant to ‘raise money for political prisoners.’

However, shocking revelations were made by the duo of Lengwani Mavhunga and Munyaradzi Mafararikwa who were recently released on bail.

The duo, who are essentially Job Sikhala`s foot soldiers shared a story in which they unwittingly exposed the misuse of donated funds within the MDC-Alliance.
“We are feeling pity for Obey Sithole, he does not have toothpaste, he does not have anything. We wonder how he will survive,” Mavhunga said on a video in which he appears with Job Sikhala.
Mavhunga`s account raised questions within the rank and file of the MDC.

“Amana here @mdczimbabwe youth leader has been abandoned shuwa here. No hashtag chaiyo zvakaoma @nelsonchamisa

(You have abandoned the @mdczimbabwe youth leader? Not even a hashtag?),” wrote one Clifton Chiyadzwa.

Several others asked similar questions tagging the party`s social welfare point person, Maureen Kademaunga who has been central in collecting funds under the pretext of rendering assistance to their members in prison.

MDC-Alliance Youth Deputy Spokesperson Womberai Nhende was at pains to save face claiming that Sithole is indeed well taken care of, trying to discredit those who were with him in prison.

“Mkoma Hope can you ask these guys kuti wasn’t l visiting them daily and asking wat l should bring the next day ??

Why are they lying kuti Obey haana chinhu? Those are lies . .. I bring hot food daily,(sic)” Nhende said, clutching at straws.

In a more desperate bid to save face, MDC-Alliance Youth Assembly Ostallos Siziba, MDC-Alliance Chairperson Chalton Hwende and Denford Ngadziore visited Sithole at Harare Central Prisons to try paint an image that the funds being sent to finance Sithole as he stays in prison are being properly directed.

They took pictures outside Harare Central Prisons to show their solidarity in times of scrutiny, what observers have described as damage control.

Sources say Sikhala deliberately shared the video with Mavhunga to expose the fraud which has been happening in the Chamisa led party for a long time.
