Umguza – Honourable Richard Moyo, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Matebelend North Province, yesterday handed over two ambulances donated by His Excellency, President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa to the province. The donation comes at a crucial time as Zimbabwe remains on high alert following two reported cases of Mpox. These new ambulances are expected to play a vital role in strengthening the province’s health infrastructure and improving access to healthcare, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
Minister Moyo expressed his sincere gratitude to President Mnangagwa for the timely donation, emphasizing the critical need for reliable emergency transportation in ensuring prompt and effective healthcare delivery. He highlighted the ambulances’ potential to significantly impact the province’s ability to respond to health emergencies, including potential Mpox cases, and to provide essential medical services to communities in geographically challenging locations. The ambulances will facilitate quicker response times, enabling medical professionals to reach patients in need more efficiently and ultimately contributing to better health outcomes for the people of Matabeleland North.
