The local soccer league is set to return on February 12, after a month long break.

The Premier Soccer League was halted in December last year for the festive season and the Warriors Afcon campaign.

Warriors have since been eliminated from the tourney.

PSL Chief Executive Officer Kenny Ndebele wrote to clubs confirming the resumption of the games.

“This serves to confirm that the Castle lager PSL competitions will resume on Saturday 12 February 2022,” said Ndebele.

The resumption notice brought a new list of requirements.

“Clubs are required to register all their players and Technical officials in order to obtain 2022 licenses

The 2021 Players and technical officials’ Licenses expired on December 31 2021

The player registration period opened on January 8 2022 and shall close on March 31 2022,” said Ndebele.

“The club registration forms must be completed and submitted to PSL offices not later than January 28 2022

No friendly practice matches shall be played without clearance from the PSL. Request for the said matches must be submitted at least 72hours before the date of the match,” he added.

Clubs were required to submit stadium lease agreements by January 31.

The PSL was stopped in December after round three matches .

Debutants Manica Diamonds are leading with nine points, while the 2021 Chibuku Super Cup champions FC Platinum are second with seven points.

The 2020 PSL campaign was completely written off by the COVID-19 pandemic.
