ZANU PF First Secretary President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on ZANU PF cadres to be the first ones on vaccination queues, leading by example.

He made this clarion call in his opening remarks of the 353rd Ordinary Session of the ZANU PF Politburo.

“All Party structures across all wings are directed to take a leading role in the mobilisation of people for vaccination,” said President Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa said ZANU PF members should be disciplined and they should lead in upholding Covid-19 regulations.

He said the number of people at vaccine points has increased.

To meet this new wave of enthusiasm towards vaccination the Second Republic has wasted no time acquiring the much needed vaccines.

“The 2 Million doses we received last week are enough to vaccinate 1Milion people and we expect more vaccines to come. Private and public sectors are commended for the role they played in the fight against the pandemic. We also received Sputnik vaccines from Russia,” said the President Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa said all eligible Zimbabweans will get vaccinated.

“During the ensuing two weeks of lockdown the vaccination programme will be rolled out through centres within communities to enhance easier access by the people.Additional health staff has been deployed across the country,” he added.

President Mnangagwa said he was aware of the impact of the extension in lockdowns on the economy and livelihoods of Zimbabweans
He said the measures, though painful, are necessary and intended to protect and save lives.
