The Law Society of Zimbabwe has issued an advisory against MDC-Alliance Hwange Central Member of Parliament Daniel Molokele.
In the advisory, the legal practice regulator warned members of public against engaging Molokele and a few other lawyers, who do not hold valid practicing certificates.
A practicing certificate is an official document that shows that you have the necessary qualifications to work as a lawyer and in Zimbabwe, LSZ retains the sole right to issue these.
Its absence, like in Molokele`s case, means he cannot dispense any legal duties within Zimbabwe.
“The Law Society of Zimbabwe wishes to advise that the following members did not hold valid Practising Certificates as at the 14th of June 2021. They therefore have no right of audience in any court, police station or prison until such a time they have regularized their licensing status.
Even in the event that they regularize, we still encourage the public to first confirm with the LSZ before engaging them,” the law society said.
Other lawyers who are listed together with Molokele include Martin Chasakara, Goodwill Chikukutu, Bothwell Ndlovu and 21 others.
