Key figures arrive for Sanganai/Hlanganani expo

International tourism buyers and exhibitors continue to trop into the country ahead of the flagship Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo which kicks off next week.
At least 38 buyers have already landed, and are currently on a countrywide pre-tour of major tourist attractions of interest ahead of the main event to take place at the Zimbabwe Trade Fair Grounds in Bulawayo.
Speaking to this publication, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority Head of Corporate Affairs, Godfrey Koti expressed joyful satisfaction with the response to this year’s edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani Expo saying that in excess of 100 buyers are expected to grace the fair.
“We are very delighted to announce that we have had a positive response from the international community, particularly the critical source market that we deal with. This year we shall be having about 100 buyers who have confirmed their participation at the fair,” said Koti.
Koti expressed satisfaction that despite the world still emerging from the harsh realities of the Covid-19 induced economic depression, the tourism industry was showing signs of resilience with all pointers showing a recovering sector ready for take-off.
“Indeed the tourism sector has seen tough times as a result of the pandemic. But we are excited that the sector is on the rebound on the back of robust strategies building put implemented by various sector players.”
At least 250 regional and international exhibitors have registered their interest to be part of the premier tourism business exchange platform at the exhibition.
Buyers from Zimbabwe’s traditional and most resilient source markets in the USA, Dubai, the UK, and Germany are also expected to attend.
So far, exhibitors from South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Tanzania, and Uganda have confirmed attendance.
This year’s edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel Expo is expected to help reposition destination Zimbabwe into a world class marketing platform that will also in turn give the country the requisite receipts for the tourism sector.
Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo is a signature event and an ideal meeting place for developing quality business relationships and establishing strategic business partnerships with world tourism players.
The grand event will run from October 13 to 15.
