Karoro fired!

President Mnangagwa has relieved Agriculture Deputy Minister Douglas Karoro of his duties.
Karoro was recently arrested for stealing agricultural inputs from the Grain Marketing Board and reselling them on the black market, abusing his position.
His case is currently before the courts.
The development was announced by the Chief Secretary to the Office of President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda in a press statement today.
Dr Sibanda said, “His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde ED Mnangagwa, in terms of section 340, subsection (1), paragraph (f), as read with section 104, subsection (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, has with immediate effect, removed Honourable Douglas Karoro (MP) from Office of Deputy Minister of Government, for conduct inappropriate for a Deputy Minister.”
Hon Karoro was one of the two Deputy Ministers in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Ressetlements.
He is currently out on $15 000 bail and is expected back in court on June 14.
