President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired State Security Minister Owen Ncube with immediate effect.
He was fired for acting in a manner inconsistent with expectations attached to his office.
In a statement, Chief Secretary to the Office of the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda confirmed the latest development.
“…President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde E.D Mnangagwa, has in terms of section 340, subsection (1), paragraph (f), as read with section 104, subsection (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe removed Owen Ncube from the Office of Cabinet Minister and Minister of Government with immediate effect for conduct inappropriate for a Minister of Government,” said Dr Sibanda.
Sibanda joins the list of dismissed Ministers which bears names like Fortune Chasi, Prisca Mupfumira and Obadiah Moyo, who all at some point in their terms of office departed from the expectations of their office.
President Mnangagwa is a strict disciplinarian, who does not hesitate to fire those who betray the trust he bestows in them.
