High Level Political Forum set for July 2021

The 2021 United Nations High Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development will be held from the 6th to the 15th of July 2021.
The HLPF, the main United Nation (UN) platform on sustainable development, is an annual event which will be held in New York City, United States of America (USA). It has a central role in the follow-up and review of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Minister of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Honorable Monica Mutsvangwa, highlighted this development during this week’s Post Cabinet briefing
“The HLPF on Sustainable Development will run under the theme ‘Sustainable and resilient recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic that promotes the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development, building an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda in the context of the decade of action and delivery of sustainable development,” she said.

In observance of the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines in terms of the COVID-19, the HLPF event will be mostly held virtually. Sit-in meetings might be allowed for the three days Ministerial Segment of the forum but all Covid-19 guidelines will be strictly observed during the event.
The event will include thematic reviews of Sustainable Development Goals and the voluntary national reviews to be conducted by Member States.
