Harare hikes parking fees, again

Just as motorists in Harare were getting used to the ZWL$300 parking fees, the City of Harare has slapped yet another increase.
In a statement, City of Harare on-street parking subsidiary City Park said the changes will take effect on July 1.
Motorists now have to part with ZWL$400 to park in Harare CBD for an hour.
City Parking also encouraged motorists who park for long periods to use the council’s “safe, secure and cheap parking lots”.
“Motorists who park for longer durations are encouraged to make use of our safe, secure, and affordable parkades and parking lots.
“In addition, motorists should ensure that the receipt reflects the actual currency paid (USD/RTGS).
“Please pay parking fees to avoid inconveniences, ” the statement reads.
