Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has announced examinations fees for the 2023 Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations.

The fees are pegged at US$24 for O-level and US$48 for A-Level.

Government is subsidising those in public schools.

In a statement, ZIMSEC said all candidates in private schools and colleges, including private candidates in public schools would pay the full cost of the examination.

Candidates in public schools will pay 45 percent of the examination fees per subject, and Government will pay 55 percent of the examination fees per subject,” it said.

“Government subsidy will cover 7 Subjects at O-Level and 4 Subjects at A-Level including Communication Skills. Candidates who want to sit for examinations in more subjects at each level will meet the full examination fees of those subjects themselves,” said ZIMSEC.

The amendment fee for the Ordinary Level candidates is $11 for changing a subject and $29 for adding a new subject.

The late entry subject fee will be $48, and the centre penalty for late submission will be $100.

Formal candidates in public schools will pay $20 for Communication Skills, while those in private schools, colleges and non-formal institutions will pay $44.

A-level practical subjects for candidates in public schools will be $22, and candidates in private schools and colleges will be paying $48.
