Govt Funds 80 Small Businesses And Community Groups
HARARE – At least 80 small businesses and community groups from across the country have benefited from Z$356 million and US$70 000 government funds for micro, small and medium Enterprises, Minister Monica Mutsvangwa has said.
Addressing a post-cabinet brief on Tuesday Minister Mutsvangwa said the funding was one of the six major projects implemented by the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development.
“The funding of 80 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Community Groups has been funded to the tune of Z$356 980 469 and US$70 000. The beneficiaries are drawn from all the ten provinces” She said.
The funding has boosted the growth and sustainability of small businesses which are positively impacting the country.
Meanwhile, the establishment of 7 Savings and Credit Cooperatives District Unions and a Provincial Union in Manicaland Province has reached 25 percent of completion.
“The certification of 10 products by the Standard Association of Zimbabwe has reached 50 percent of completion and 31 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Community Groups have been capacitated in Standard Based Training
